I am currently an AmeriCorps VISTA with the Women's Foundation of Montana, working specifically on the PowerHouse Montana initiative. I've seen firsthand how important it is for women to have the resource and opportunity to connect. I feel thankful to have many women mentors in my life that want to see me succeed, and it is important to me that other women get this opportunity. I already feel like my involvement in PowerHouse Montana, not only as a VISTA running the program, but as a young professional, has made a huge impact on my career. In the great, vast state of Montana it can be challenging for women to tap into their economic potential due to reasons such as poverty, access, and micro-inequity in the workplace. As a young professional starting out, I feel some of these struggles already, and it will only increase as I grow older and start a family. I want to make systemic changes for not only my future, but for the future of all the little girls who just need someone to show them that they can smash glass ceilings, too. We've always known that Montana women were one of our greatest untapped resources. We're tapping in.

We need your help to raise funds to support the PowerHouse Montana initiative so that it can continue to grow and expand to rural areas and continue to provide women with access to the resources, opportunities, and connections they need to succeed.

PowerHouse Montana is a new initiative of the Women’s Foundation of Montana with two goals in mind: (1) connecting Montana women with the resources, mentors and opportunities they need to create thriving businesses and thriving lives, (2) increasing the number of Montana women in leadership by providing a go-to source for organizations and companies looking for their next CEO or board chair.

PowerHouse Montana offers quarterly educational webinars aimed at increasing the success of women in business and periodic gatherings and conferences to provide opportunities for cross-sector education, collaboration, innovation and idea sharing.

The Women’s Foundation of Montana believes that women are one of our greatest untapped resources. PowerHouse Montana is tapping into that resource. I was contacted by a PowerHouse member. She found me on the website. We had a fun lunch together sharing stories and getting to know one another. It was wonderful to meet and hear from another mom and business professional in Billings!
