About Edgewood Village Garden Program Volunteer
Village Veggies Pilot
Position Description:Volunteer needed to assist in harvesting vegetables making them available for distribution and donation. During harvesting sessions Educational opportunities may be scheduled for program participants to learn about gardening and nutrition. Tasks may include: Harvesting garden produce, weighing and recording weight, packing produce into containers, packing educational materials with produce, resident interaction.
Application Process
Qualifications: Must be friendly and able to interact with diverse groups of people. Gardening is a plus but not required. A volunteer application and background check is required. Trainings provided: Trainings provided: Volunteer orientation will take place on June 22nd from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm the date of the first session. Topics include: Background information, program information, basic gardening skills, how to harvest specific types of produce and health promotion/nutrition education.
