About Meaning of Service: When Helping Hurts
Every month, the Center for Community and Civic Engagement (HUB 104) runs a round table discussion called the Meaning of Service. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to discuss and reflect on different service topics, and share opinions on all matters in a safe environment. Each month is a new topic. Students are encouraged to draw on previous experiences to enhance the discussions. November's topic is When Helping Hurts, a closer look at serving and when it is making positive or negative change. Any student who attends also earns one hour of community service, and lunch is provided.
