About La Verne Host Town Program for Special Olympics World Games
The La Verne host town program is a 3-day program that takes place prior to the Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games. Delegations from around the world will be welcomed and celebrated and the La Verne host town program will be hosting delegations from US Virgin Islands and Pakistan! The schedule of events will include getting to know community members, taking part in cultural activities unique to the La Verne area, and practicing and resting for The Games. Through this website, you will find volunteer opportunities!

We need volunteers to help with:
La Verne Fourth of July Country Fair at Roynon Elementary School
July 4, 2015 8:00am – 3:00pm
We are looking for volunteers who can host a "La Verne Host Town" booth to promote the La Verne Host Town Program, as well as sell World Games Special Olympics Wristbands. Although the Country Fair will go from 11am to 2pm, set-up will begin at 8am and clean-up could go as late as 3pm.. The location for the La Verne Fourth of July Country Fair will be at Roynon Elementary School at 2715 “E” Street, La Verne, CA 91750.
Welcome Crew/Luggage Support
July 21, 2015 6:30pm – 10:30pm
Volunteers for this opportunity will assist in welcoming the athletes when they arrive to La Verne. In addition, volunteers will help with unloading the athlete's luggage from the bus and transporting them to the athletes' room/floor. Please note that the arrival time for athletes may vary from the time indicated here due to flight arrivals and/or World Games check-in procedures. The athletes time of arrival is tentative til the day of. The Pakistani delegation will arrive LAX at 2PM, but we estimate that they will arrive La Verne at 7PM, the US Virgin Islands arrive LAX at 7:30PM and estimate their arrival to La Verne at 10PM.

University of La Verne Campus Tour for Delegations
July 22, 2015 8:30am – 9:15am
We are looking for students who are familiar with the campus and who can give our delegations a campus tour of the University of La Verne, where they will be staying for 3 days. Please note that the tour times may vary, as delegations will be arriving throughout the day. A volunteer orientation will be given a couple of weeks prior to the delegations arriving. Please stay tuned!

Welcome BBQ at Heritage Park in La Verne, CA
July 22, 2015 11:00am – 4:00pm
We are looking for volunteers to assist with set-up and take-down, and any other logistics related to the BBQ during the duration of 11am-4pm. A volunteer orientation will be provided a couple weeks prior to the event. Please stay tuned!

Visit to Ontario Mills Mall with Delegations
July 23, 2015 1:30pm – 4:30pm
We are looking for volunteers to accompany and chaperone our delegations during their visit to the Ontario Mills Mall. A volunteer orientation will be provided a couple weeks prior to the event, where more details will discussed. Please stay tuned!
