Mission United

Supporting Long Island's Veterans and Military Families

A fundraising campaign for United Way of Long Island

Thumb soldierandgirlThe 495 Challenge

An estimated 22 veterans take their lives each day according to a report issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs - We're asking Long Islanders to go the distance in recognition of this startling statistic. As I-495 stretches the length of Long Island, we challenge 495 Long Islanders to give $22 to provide critical assistance to those in need. Help drive us closer to our goal!

LIVE UNITED to Support Long Island's Military Families

About Mission United
United Way of Long Island invites all Long Islanders to salute the men and women who fight for our freedom and their loved ones who encourage their journey. MISSION UNITED is a critical program supporting US military service members, veterans and their families on Long Island by helping them re-acclimate to civilian life. Key focus areas include employment, education, health, legal assistance, emergency financial aid, and housing.
Mission United Partners
United Way of Long Island's Mission United initiative supports programs that serve Long Island's military, veterans and their families in the areas of case management and emergency financial assistance. Funds raised will directly benefit Long Island veterans through our partnerships with Association for Mental Health & Wellness, Family Service League, Hope for the Warriors, Mental Health Association of Nassau County, and United Veterans Beacon House.
