About Mississippi Soul II Sole 5k & Superhero 1 Mile Fun Run

Mississippi is known for its southern soul and hospitality, so what better way for us to celebrate in that tradition, than with the first annual Mississippi Sole II Soul 5K Race & Superhero 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Mississippi Trade Mart. The aim of this race is to bring awareness to the importance of health, wellness and physical activity. The event promoters Dr. Zonzie McLaurin and Tony are using some of the proceeds to be the benefactor for the Jackson Leadership Foundation, a non-profit agency which partners with leaders, churches, and mission minded organizations in the Jackson area to provide needed services and resources to help make a difference in the inner-city communities.

One of the major sponsors for this event is Safe Kids of Mississippi, through the efforts of the Children’s Community Outreach Program at the University of Mississippi. As a supporter of this event, the Children’s Community Outreach Program is seeking volunteers to assist with the activities.
