About Mad City Money Volunteers Needed!
Tompkins County Public Library is Seeking Volunteers for Mad City Money for Teens to Learn Financial Literacy
When
April 22 1 – 2 pm
and
April 27 4:00-6:30
What is it?
Mad City Money is a two-hour simulation design to help teens learn the challenges of managing money as if they were an adult. The goal behind Mad City Money is for the students to be allowed to make mistakes-see the consequence of their decisions-and figure out how to right the mistakes.
As a volunteer, you will attend a one-hour training and then help with the 2 hour simulation. You might be a mortgage lender, car salesman or grocery store checkout person. I can speak from personal experience that this simulation is a lot of fun and time just flies by as you watch the teens grapple with real-world budget choices.
You must be available for both
-- the Saturday Training on April 22 from 1 - 2 pm
and
--the 2-hour simulation on Thursday 4/27, 4:00 - 6:30 (actual event 4:30 – 6:30)
Where
Tompkins County Public Library, 101 East Green Street
