The University of the Incarnate Word is a vital component of
the San Antonio community. The Cardinals
athletic program plays a unique role in engaging the community in the
University and vice versa. UIW’s
student-athletes are leaders in the classroom, community and field of
competition.
While competing across the country in the name of the
University, and representing the City of San Antonio, UIW’s student-athletes
often give up many traditional college activities in favor of weight training,
practice, study hall, travel and competition.
Providing the best possible experience for each student-athlete competing
in each of 23 varsity sports is paramount to maximizing the benefit to the
University and community.
Competing at the NCAA’s highest level of competition,
Cardinal athletics is responsible for introducing the University and San
Antonio to prospective students across the region and nation. Investment in Cardinal athletics and its
program fosters positive community support, enrollment growth and economic impact. When a local university is strong it adds high paying jobs, cultural opportunities and a championship mentality.
Each donor at any level, over $50, will receive an UIW Athletics Cardinals Club Fiesta Medal! *Medals will be available for pick-up starting 3/23.
