About Salvation Army Empty Bowl Luncheon
• Empty Bowls Luncheon
The Empty Bowls Luncheon is an annual event sponsored by SAWA from 11am – 1pm near Ash Wednesday. For a $15 donation, patrons receive, a handmade memory bowl, and soup, bread, and water donated and served by local restaurants. This project provides the perfect vehicle to unite the community with the mission and ministry of the Salvation Army through mass inclusion at the grassroots level. At no other time of the year do we welcome so many through our doors. All proceeds are designated for hunger and hunger awareness locally. Additional activities at the luncheon include a silent auction of donated items and a bake sale.
