In Honor of Sue Prokosch

Honoring the life and legacy of Sue Prokosch, and her love for the children of Newburgh. All funds will go directly to youth programming at the Newburgh Armory.

A fundraising campaign for Newburgh Armory Unity Center

Sue Prokosch, fondly known as Ms. Pro or Aunt Sue, was known throughout the Newburgh community for her dedication to her family, service to others, and love and hope for the children and families of the Newburgh community, in particular students without a voice. She was a teacher, mentor, basketball coach, and supported girls sports in particular before they were commonplace. She was dedicated to her students and worked tirelessly to help them achieve purpose to their lives. She always gave them hope and pushed them to be positive members of the community. She had a profound impact on many lives and her legacy will be marked by how she cared deeply for all people.

Her life and legacy embodies all that is good in the mission of the Newburgh Armory Unity Center (NAUC) to provide high-quality academic enrichment opportunities to the children and families of Newburgh.

Sue obtained a master's degree from SUNY New Paltz and served as the Vice President of the Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education. Both organizations are formal affiliates of the NAUC.

In lieu of flowers, the Prokosch family has requested that donations be made to Newburgh Armory Unity Center to support programming for Newburgh children.

All donations will go directly to NAUC programming that directly serves the Newburgh children Sue championed.
