Gardens, Trails & Grounds
With over 4,000 acres, grounds care is always welcome! See below for opportunities to help maintain trails and keep gardens blooming. We also offer a variety of ongoing and seasonal volunteer opportunities for Master Gardeners and Michigan Conservation Stewards to earn volunteer hours.

We need volunteers to help with:
Manor House Gardens / Rose and Thistle Garden Club
Rose and Thistle Garden Club work with Annuals, perennials, groundcovers, woody shrubs and trees all need "TLC" to stay healthy, happy and beautiful (3-4 hrs/wk)

Pollinator Garden
Look after a garden designed to attract butterflies, located at Kellogg Bird Sanctuary (2-3 hrs/wk)

Lakefront Landscaping
Lakefront Landscaping Look after the Gull Lake Lake shore. Plantings are an attractive and functional buffer zone between lawn areas and Gull lake. Help is needed to maintain this area as a demonstration for lakefront property owners (3-4 hrs/wk)

Adopt-a-Trail
Help us maintain our miles of walking and biking trails! Hit the trail when your schedule permits and remove branches, litter-- even invasive species if you choose. Get outside and bring the family! (2-4 hrs/month)
