About Prader-Willi California Foundation Annual State Conference
Prader-Willi California Foundation (PWCF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people born with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families.
Volunteer Opportunity: PWCF is in need of volunteers to help with their Youth & Adult Program during their annual state conference Play with children and adults with Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and their siblings while their parents attend an education conference about this disorder. Assist the kids and adults with PWS with the day’s activities, including arts & crafts, and games while you learn about this rare syndrome in a relaxed atmosphere.
What is Prader-Willi Syndrome? PWS is a non-inherited genetic disorder that causes among myriad other symptoms, muscle weakness, delayed developmental milestones, cognitive impairment, emotional regulation difficulties, impaired metabolic system and hyperphagia – an unrelenting, physiological drive to eat and an inability to feel satiated after eating.
