About Head Start Policy Council - Community Stakeholder

The Head Start Policy Council is a dedicated group of Head Start parents and community stakeholders who come together to guide and make key decisions about the local Head Start program. This council ensures that the voices and needs of families are at the heart of program planning and decision-making.

Each year, the sitting council collaborates to decide the meeting schedule, including the specific meeting days. This approach allows for flexibility and ensures that all members—especially parents and community partners—can actively participate.

Community stakeholders hold an essential role on the Policy Council. Your involvement brings valuable expertise, local insights, and a broader perspective that helps ensure the Head Start program truly meets the needs of families and children. As a stakeholder, your voice matters in shaping the program's direction, strengthening partnerships, and fostering a deeper connection between Head Start and the wider community. Your input helps drive positive change, ensuring that Head Start remains a relevant, responsive, and empowering resource for families.

By becoming a part of the Policy Council, you’re not just attending meetings—you’re directly shaping the future of Head Start and making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in your community. Your leadership and dedication help create opportunities for growth, learning, and success for the next generation.
