About Black History Month at Jackson Free Clinic
This year’s theme is “Bridging the Gap” with educational opportunities and events centered around health disparities experienced by the African American community of Mississippi and the socioeconomic factors that contribute to them. We were hoping that you would be interested in volunteering with us to help make JFC’s celebration of Black History Month a success.
We need volunteers to help with:
Community Health Outreach Program at XplicitJ3 Feb. 4th
February 4, 2021 6:00am – 10:00am
The Community Health Outreach Program will be at XplicitJ3 gym during Black History month to raise awareness of the services we provide at the Jackson Free Clinic. The Community Health Outreach Program is run by volunteer medical student volunteers from UMMC and offers health screenings (blood pressure, glucose, BMI, & nutrition counseling), flu vaccinations (while supplies last), and educational materials.
This event will take place from 6am to 10am at Xplicit J3.

Who volunteered?
Shower Power Feb. 12th
February 12, 2021 8:00am – 1:00pm
Shower Power is a mobile shower unit that provides free showers to homeless and underserved in the greater Jackson Area. At the shower site, volunteers help with the shower unit, provide food and warm drinks for people, and JFC volunteers interact with people while performing health screenings, providing health information, and administering flu vaccinations.
Volunteers arrive at : 836 South Commerce Street Jackson, MS 39201 at 7:45 am.
