About Working with Teens and Young adults with Disabilities at a community center
Helping Hands Respite Care offers this fun, rewarding, challenging and stimulating opportunity to make a difference as a volunteer in the life of a young adult or teen. The program takes place at the Gier Community Center (About 3 miles east north east of campus) on 2400 Hall Rd in Lansing. We have trained care providers but not enough hands to help with all the tasks and activities we want to allow our young adults to do. The center has a gym, game room, art room, dance room and is situated on 37 acres. Your volunteering would help assure that the young adults participating in our program would have the best day possible. We specifically are in need of volunteers for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
