Great Bay Community Wildlife Garden

The Community Wildlife Garden property, located in Stratham next to Chapman's Landing (Squamscott River), features native plants, a pond, and a Thoreau cabin!

A fundraising campaign for Great Bay Stewards

Help create and care for an educational community garden on the shores of Great Bay. We are in the late stages of developing a backyard wildlife gardening demonstration area. We will share ideas about how to enjoy a low maintenance beautiful backyard while providing shelter, food, and water for wildlife too. Other green tips such as using a rain barrel and creating "no mow lawns" will also be part of this new community backyard.

This beautiful and high profile property is located in Stratham next to Chapman's Landing boat launch on the Squamscott River. The property already hosts a wildlife viewing platform that overlooks salt marsh and an osprey nest that has raised young each year since 1993. We hope this garden will become a treasured community resource.
