About Adoption Day Volunteers

At most Adoption Days, we have a fenced-off area inside or outside the store, behind which we have all the dogs that are able to attend that Adoption Day. Each dog has it’s own personal volunteer to keep it company and to tell visitors about the dog’s character. Outside the fence, we have volunteers who greet visitors and talk to them about adopting a GSD, and introduce them to specific GSDs that might be a good pet for them.

Other volunteers are available with computers to process adoptions that might happen. We usually have a few people displaying & selling cool products with our logo or GSDs on them. More volunteers are needed to refill water bowls, take over when someone needs a break, and generally help out.

WHAT IT TAKES

Time commitment: 5-6 hours per Adoption Day (and you can attend as many or as few a month as you wish)

Location: Must travel to Adoption Day location

Technology needs: Email or phone connectivity for scheduling & coordination

Skills: Familiarity with GSDs, enjoy talking with people

Junior volunteers are welcome to participate to earn community service hours for high school.
