About Trash & Tire Pickers
EPCAMR has identified numerous community areas throughout the region, where illegal dumping is rampant on abandoned mine lands and in our streams and rivers. Annually, we coordinate around 3-5 cleanups at these sites and are always looking for community volunteers. EPCAMR secures funding yearly through grant programs to pay for the removal of the trash, tires, and debris.
Cleanups are coordinated depending on funding availability to cover the costs of the dumpsters that are needed to remove the debris. EPCAMR has other partners in the region, namely the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, NE Office, and the Lackawanna River Corridor Association, that currently has funding for cleanups and when the need for volunteers arise, EPCAMR could alert them of your interest, if interested.
