About School Garden Program Support
Our Montessori Outdoor Learning Experience (MOLE) focuses on connecting our Montessori community to the outdoors, linking classroom, garden, and cafeteria through special events, school gardens, and more. MOLE hosts festivals to celebrate the fall and spring (at left you can see a scene from around the maypole at our Spring Festival). Additionally, almost 15 classrooms participate in the school garden program providing students a continuation of hands on learning outdoors.
School gardens are an invaluable learning tool that enhance academic curriculum, teach positive social interaction, promote environmental awareness, provide hands on learning opportunities, expose students to moderate physical activity and healthy food choices. Next time you visit the school take a few minutes to see what is growing in our gardens. We have garden beds in the front of the school and in back near Cedar Street.
We are always accepting donations of perennials, tools, seeds and seedlings, soil, etc. We also accept assistance with summer care and watering.
Family-Friendly
Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
