Who We Are:
Any Baby Can is an Austin, Texas-based nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen families so children can succeed. We meet families where they are in their journey through education, therapy and support services. When you join the Any Baby Can Team, you share in our belief that all children deserve the chance to be healthy and happy.

Camp Grey Dove:
Any Baby Can's Camp Grey Dove is a 5 day overnight summer camp for siblings of children diagnosed with cancer. The camp will be coordinated by Any Baby Can staff and hosted at Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children (PKRC) in Killeen, Texas.

Position Summary:
Camp Counselors will play a key role in creating and facilitating an environment in which children between the ages of 7 and 17 can have fun and make new friends.
Camp Counselors are required to stay the entire 5 days.

Responsibilities Include:
 Fostering positive, meaningful relationships with the campers throughout the week.
 Working with Candlelighters & PKRC staff to create a safe environment in the cabins and throughout the camp.
 In the Texas heat, one of your most important jobs will be to check in with campers throughout the day to make sure they are staying hydrated.
 Supervising campers in assigned activity groups, both in the cabin and any place assigned on camp property.
 Co-leading a group of campers in activities and help campers’ transition from one activity to the next.
 Having energetic and positive attitudes to encourage campers to participate in camp activities led by PKRC staff.
 Staying overnight with campers in their cabins and assisting with bedtime and morning routines.
 Setting a positive example through your leadership for the Counselors-In-Training (CITs), siblings of children with cancer who are ages 15-17 years old.

Rate of Pay: Stipend is provided.

Application Process

In order to be eligible to apply for the Volunteer Camp
Counselor position, you:
 MUST be 18 years or older as of June 1, 2019 (age limits
are firm)
 Preferably have experience working with children and
youth
 Background check is required
 Training required
 Bilingual preferred
 Male counselors especially needed
