About American Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces
This opportunity is managing cases of emergency communications from actively serving military personnel. These communications may involve a service member requesting leave for death/sickness in the family, financial assistance, etc. The volunteer follows up with the client, typically someone from the service member's family, to check on and log the status of the case and determine if the Red Cross may be of further assistance.
Time dedication and location for volunteering are very flexible. The program runs 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM each day, and volunteers only have to work a minimum of one hour (regularly). The opportunity is located 501 7th St N,Suite 8, Columbus, MS 39701, but volunteers may work from anywhere with phone & Internet-enabled PC.

Application Process
Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age, must complete a background check as well as complete initial online and in-person orientation and training before starting, An Internet-connected PC and telephone is required.
