The Need: Every child deserves the opportunity to live a long, healthy and productive life! According to the U.S. Census Bureau estimates, there were 41,731,233 youth age 10-19 in the United States, 13% of the total U.S. population, in 2015. 16 million of them are growing up without a mentor. On the average, one out of every three young people doesn't have a trusted adult who they believe they can turn to for advice and guidance outside of their home. Of those young people, 9 million faces a variety of day-to-day challenges that put them at-risk of not reaching their full potential.
Confident Girl Mentoring Program, Inc (CGMP) is dedicated to quality mentoring experiences for all young people and is an active and proud member of Mentor's Mentoring Connector the largest volunteer referral system in the U.S. devoted solely to youth mentoring opportunities.
