This year, our Thanksgiving food basket numbers will be quite a bit larger. After 26 years, the Judy Mason Thanksgiving Project has come to an end.
This project has been a wonderful tribute to Judy and a true expression of the
generosity by the Mason family, as well as a blessing to those in need. With
its ending, plus the COVID-19 pandemic creating a void, many in our community
will be without food resources for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thus, the
Northeast Community Fund is expanding its food program to include Thanksgiving
products with our regular food boxes during the weeks of November 8th and
November 15th. The basket will include a
large meat product, stuffing, yams, bread, butter, milk, eggs, muffin mix,
fresh fruits, vegetables, dessert item in addition to our regular food box items. We are anticipating
serving 3,500 families during this time frame, which will put a strain on our
food budget. Regardless we are willing to commit to this endeavor. We are asking our community to make a gift
to our efforts.
