The Shades of LHU Legacy Scholarship was established in 2020 to provide financial support to black, returning students at Lock Haven University. In 2020, the scholarship was awarded for the first time with junior education major, Tymir James receiving $1,000.

This scholarship has significant meaning. Not only are we able to give back to the university that helped shape and educate us, but we are also able to support black students at The Haven who are currently on the journey to do the same for themselves. We understand the value of supporting our future leaders -- the change agents in our communities. It is our hope that students will sow financial seeds into this legacy now and upon graduating from Lock Haven University; it is our hope that they will continue the legacy of contributing to the scholarship and pushing others forward to lead.
