At Sammy's House, our mission is to bridge the gap in services for children and youth who are medically fragile and/or developmentally delayed by providing high quality education and child care services, offering resources for families and working to create a community of tolerance and inclusion.
Sammy's House is an invaluable resource to the community. Of our enrolled children, 2/3 are either from economically disadvantaged families or are under protective care and attending on scholarships or subsidized tuition. For 20 years we have relied on you, our dedicated group of donors and volunteers to continue to serve these vulnerable children.
Our programs include:
- An award-winning Child Development Center that serves children with and without special needs from the time they're 6 weeks old until they enter Kindergarten
- An After School program for school-aged children that allows parents and caregivers to keep a typical work schedule
- An evening and weekend Respite Care program that's offered outside of regular hours, giving parents a change to relax and recharge
- An inclusive youth and adaptive teen summer camp to give individuals with special needs a summer experience similar to their typically-developing peers
- Resources for parents including parent education, support in finding family resources and reducing isolation by providing opportunities for parents to find each other
