Project Coyote's $100K Matching Gift Campaign

Protecting Wild Carnivores, Fostering Thriving Ecosystems

A fundraising campaign for Project Coyote

Project Coyote protects North America’s wild carnivores & promotes compassionate coexistence through education, science, advocacy, and coalition building.

Thanks to the collective support of compassionate wildlife advocates across the country, we celebrated our 15th anniversary this year!

We have created powerful change for wild carnivores in those fifteen years; we've changed laws, shifted policies, and raised public awareness to choose coexistence instead of killing. This year alone, we:

  • Banned wildlife killing contests on public lands in Oregon alongside fellow wildlife advocates
  • Passed legislation in New York to ban wildlife killing contests statewide through strong coalition building and grassroots advocacy (the bill is now before Governor Hochul for signature—our advocacy continues until officially signed into law
  • Launched our #CaptureCoexistence campaign, uniting over 2,800 wildlife photographers in opposition to wildlife killing contests
  • Defended Montana’s wolves in court against the state’s aggressive wolf hunting and trapping policies

To help us celebrate our recent victories, and ensure our work in 2024 and beyond, a collection of steadfast supporters have joined forces to offer a $100,000 Matching Gift Campaign! Every dollar donated through December 31st is doubled. Although this is our first time launching a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, we've set an ambitious $20,000 goal for this platform. With your support, creating a fundraiser and inviting your friends and family to make a difference, we will reach our ultimate $100,000 goal.

Whether you are considering making a donation, or starting your own peer-to-peer fundraiser, thank you for making a difference for wild carnivores!

As a token of our appreciation, supporters who raise over $500 will be offered a signed copy of Coyote Conversations by Mark Surls, an inspirational wildlife advocate, conservation photographer, and contributor to our #CaptureCoexistence campaign.
