In 1982…everyone was doing the robot, Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” was at the top of the charts, acid wash jeans were all the rage…and a few dedicated individuals were around a kitchen table forming CalSAC, because they believed that we could do better for our children and youth.
Today - 35 years later, we still believe that young people need and deserve more. That’s why CalSAC is building a more equitable future for California’s children and families where:
Every child in California — regardless of income, race, or zip code — has access to high quality, affordable out-of-school time programs (like before school, afterschool and summer learning).
Every professional in the field has the resources they need and is valued for the important impact they have on the lives of children.
In 2017, we may wear different clothes and listen to
different music, yet CalSAC’s unique spirit continues, where people are at the center of our work and youth are at the heart
of our actions.
CalSAC has set the goal to raise $35,000 for our 35 Years
Strong Giving Campaign.
And, thanks to the generosity of the S.D. Bechtel Jr. Foundation and The
David and Lucile Packard Foundation, your donation will be matched dollar for
dollar up to $35,000!
