Although there is uncertainty with regard to when the Canisius hockey program will begin competition this year, the Canisius athletic department’s commitment to the health and safety of our student-athletes has not changed. Canisius athletics is dedicated to supporting our Golden Griffin student-athletes in their academic efforts and in their supervised training done in accordance with health and safety protocols set by the NCAA, the College, and federal, state and local government officials.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has caused significant economic and budgetary challenges to all levels of collegiate athletics. The Canisius athletic department is incurring new expenses as we implement new health and safety protocols, while important revenue streams that support our 20 Canisius varsity  programs - including ticket sales, sponsorships and distributions from the NCAA - have been greatly reduced. At the same time, the day-to-day expense of operating a successful Division I college hockey program have not changed. We are asking you to join us and “Come Together” in an effort to support the Griffs.

A gift of any amount to the Blue and Gold Fund designated to the Canisius Hockey “Come Together” campaign makes a difference. One hundred (100) percent of your gift will be allocated directly to our hockey program. 

In recent years, we have made significant progress in developing new standards to operate our programs, and now we are adding the responsibility of enhancing safety protocols to give our student-athletes and staff the best possible training conditions. Your donation will help fuel our program as our student-athletes continue to work toward our goal of winning the MAAC Championships!
