Each scholar at BJM is so excited to pick out their very own new book at this school event packed with super-fun, hands-on activities exploring the wonders of reading diverse books!
To make this possible for each scholar, we need your help! We have 50 books on hand, but have 240 more books to buy at $7 each.
We have just a couple of weeks left before the event, so please donate today via this site or send a check made out to "BJM PTA" with "Bookfest 2017" in the memo line and mail to Larry Cutler, BJM Elementary, 302 W Buffalo St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
For more information, please contact Anneliese Truame, BJM parent, or Paula Long, School Librarian.
You did it!
May 1, 2017
Thank you to all of our donors and fundraisers for meeting the goal of a book for every scholar at BJM on May 11th!
You made this dream come true and it means so very much to the students, teachers, librarian, staff, and families! Your support means our scholars know that they matter. You have shown that the community near and far supports their deep thinking, their reading, and their exploration!
Ms. Paula, our Teacher-Librarian, is hard at work stocking the Bookshop with diverse books ranging from fiction and poetry to STEM and non-fiction for our readers at every level from Pre-K to 5th grade! Teachers, staff, and volunteers are planning hands-on literacy activities starting with a whole community read-to-self event at morning program in the gym!
Thank YOU for being a critical part of the BJM story of success,
Dr. Esch
