Back to School with Give More HUGS

Back to School. There are good memories that many of us have when it comes to going back to school: new clothes, new shoes, new backpacks full of new school supplies and the newest gadgets. Remember the feeling you got from having a new backpack and school supplies. You felt confident and excited about learning and about the new school year. Unfortunately, there are many children and families who struggle to afford even basic school supplies. Starting off the school year right is very important.

We created this campaign for you to help us help students who truly need our support. We are raising funds for our back to school projects.  We will collaborate with schools and community organizations in San Antonio and Amarillo, Texas, and Dominica. Our goal is to impact 6,400 students in Texas and 300 students in Dominica.  Your support can help ensure a child feels more confident and ready to start the new school year. 

Over the years, we have partnered with Edgewood ISD, Judson ISD and Heal The City in Texas and schools in the Kalinago Territory in Dominica. Your support will help a child have a great start to the school year. Please consider making a donation by July 22 and share this opportunity to give with your friends and family. Together, we will ensure that these children have a great start to their school year.

Donate on this page to support our Texas Projects to provide backpacks for children in San Antonio, Texas and Amarillo, Texas. Our goal is to reach 6,000 students in San Antonio and 400 students in Amarillo, Texas. We will work with our community partners and volunteers to stuff backpacks filled with school supplies to prepare for successful back to school events on August 3 and August 10.  

Donate on the Team Dominica page to help us provide an unforgettable back to school event on August 17 for children in the Kalinago Territory. 

Our mission is simple.  We provide students and teachers in disadvantaged communities with tools and resources to support equal education. In the process, we hope to spark a newfound love or reinforce a students’ existing love of reading and learning.  

We believe that every student deserves a quality education. We know that many children growing up in poverty live in a home without books. GMH wants to support these students by giving them a book that includes an inspirational message. We provide books through our BookShare program.   Importantly, we don’t forget the teachers. We partner with them to provide them with books, curriculum, tools and resources.
