This CLE provides an in-depth examination of essential legal instruments for future planning. Participants will gain an understanding of healthcare proxies, living wills, and powers of attorney, including their legal significance, execution requirements, and common challenges. The course will also cover the basics of wills and their role in estate planning.

CLE Credit: 1 CLE credit available. Appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys.
*This course is FREE. We encourage participants to sign up for our Senior Legal Empowerment and Advocacy Program (Senior LEAP) where volunteers present on the importance of advanced directives at senior and community centers throughout Brooklyn. Experienced attorneys who take a pro bono case can receive additional CLE credit for every 2 hours of eligible pro bono service.
