Queensborough mourns the passing of Claire Dupre, a remarkable young woman in the prime of her life, who was set to graduate this December from Queensborough Community College. Claire passed away on August 28th, 2023.
It has left a tremendous void in the hearts of many here at Queensborough who knew her.
"Claire has been a light and a source of inspiration for many of us as she was determined to make her way through college and earn her degree. She was a singer, a dancer, a poet, and above all a student."

Claire was an ASAP student and had just two more classes to complete her degree - she was planning on taking these this Fall semester. She had persevered and was so excited to be in the last stages of earning her associate degree!
She was a member of the CUNY Coalition for Students with Disabilities on campus as well as the ASAP Club, the Women’s Group, the Music Society, the Ally LGBTQ Club, CSTEP and Queensborough's Black Male Initiative.
