Registration is closed - what?!
Admittedly, we’re feeling really disappointed that our spectacular, wonderful, fabulous 10th annual Women Build Weekend can't take place as planned on May 8th and 9th. We're going to miss the camaraderie, laughs and learning that come along with having hundreds of you volunteering, swinging your hammers, and building homes for our community. But, Women Builders don't give up... they give anyway ;)
Although our physical build is going to take a
different shape this year – delayed, as smaller gatherings, or possibly as online training you can watch at home – our fundraising need hasn’t changed.
Our $25,000 fundraising goal for Women Build is as critical now as ever. For a small organization like ours, that $25,000
pays our staff for a few months. It’s
just about enough to purchase our next piece of property to build a
home on. And, specifically, it’s the
amount that we need to finish off 1928
Slaterville Road and help Paula, Dameon, Mia and Santiago move into their very first house.
If you're wondering what you can do to make a difference right now, you can help a local family achieve their ultimate dream: Home.
COVID-19 has sent all of us to one place: Home. If you're lucky like me, you're feeling a tremendous amount of comfort and security from having a safe place to be with your family. The power and stability of home is as real as ever right now, for those of us who have a place to go. Your donation to Women Build helps build home for a family who doesn't yet have that luxury.
Although we have to put down our hammers for now, we do not
have to quiet our voices. Every year we’re
humbled by all of you who spread the word about our mission, donate to Women Build, and then raise
pledges from your friends and family to help us reach our fundraising
goal. So, in lieu of the time you would’ve
spent on site with us, we’re asking you to make a donation to Habitat. And, if Women Build really speaks to your heart, you can
help us even more by spreading the word.
You can still create a fundraising page to collect pledges
from your friends and family. You can
still request additional donations and you can shout it from the rooftops that we are Habitat, and we build home.
Til we build again,
