9 Myths of Direct Response Fundraising

Nobody sends mail anymore. Major donors hate emails. Wait, what? Direct response…it’s probably not what you think.

A fundraising event for Greater Hudson Valley Association of Fundraising Professionals

Direct response fundraising is confusing. Often, we don’t know where to start or how to incorporate it to increase revenue and donor engagement. Worse, there are people who say, ‘No one reads mail’ or ‘Major donors hate emails.’

In this session, we’ll dispel some of the myths around direct response (yes, mainly the mail!) and how you can ensure every channel is a real source of revenue.

You’ll also learn:

➔ Tips for integrating all of your direct mail, events, and online fundraising to increase revenue and engagement.

➔ Insights on the latest research and trends with direct response and why the mail still matters.

➔ Tips for using the mail as stewardship for your donors AND driving supporters online.

➔ How to grow your donor file in a cost-effective way as a small organization

We’ve also got TWO special offers:

              1.  Send in any direct response sample, you like (an event invitation, an appeal, or just a campaign you liked) and we’ll provide feedback as part of the presentation.

              2.  Attendees will also be entered to win a free 30-minute consultation with our presenter. Presenter: Hayden (he/him) is a seasoned direct marketing professional with more than ten years working in advocacy, communications, and fundraising. As Client Services Manager at Whittier & Associates, he manages all aspects of clients’ fundraising work from day-to-day production to planning, strategy, and analysis. He holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Management with a focus in Resource Development from the University of Denver.
